Rick Friedman is a photojournalist, portrait, commercial, and travel photographer for over 4 decades. He is a Tamron Pro, a Profoto Ambassador, a member of ThinkTank Pro Team. Based in Boston, he travels the world for numerous publications, corporations, advertising assignments and film and television productions. His published work has appeared in Time, National Geographic, Newsweek, New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, Nature, USA Today, The Guardian, Der Spiegel, Stern, Discover, and on ABC, CBS, CNN, FOX News, NBC, MSNBC, Discovery Channel, Late Show, Saturday Night Live, and many other publications, film, film documentaries, and TV productions around the globe. He has produced over 90 book and magazine covers, has worked on 20 film productions and appeared in 2 movies, playing “the photographer”.  Rick has photographed thousands of celebrities, musicians, professors and politicians. He has photographed every US president from Jimmy Carter to Donald Trump along with many international   leaders. 

Rick, known for his practical, creative lighting, has been teaching his “Location Lighting Workshops” for over 20 years. He has taught workshops at BILD (NYC), PhotoPlus, WPPI, Imaging USA, SWPP (London), Xposure (UAE), PPoC (Canada), White House News Photographers Association, CanAm Photo Expo, numerous PPA events, and many other workshops.
