Moose Peterson
Moose’s passion for photography started in 1978 and 1981 along with his wife Sharon they went into business. They have dedicated their lives in the education and protection of our wild heritage, the lands and the critters. Moose added to wildlife in 2008 aviation photography with the same goal of preserving our aviation heritage and the freedoms they protect, pictorially and orally for future generations. Along the way Moose has been honored for his photographic passion: a Nikon Ambassador USA, recipient of the John Muir Conservation Award, Research Associate with the Endangered Species Recovery Program, just to name a few. He was part of Epson’s Finish Strong ad campaign. Moose was the creative producer/photographer of his acclaimed film: Warbirds and The Men Who Flew Them. He shares his knowledge through his writing, being published in over 143 magazines worldwide, author of 29 books including his latest, Takeoff and best seller Captured. He lectures across the country to thousands upon thousands of photographers every year. One of the original Nikon shooters to receive the D1 in 1999, Moose embraced this new technology, becoming the only wildlife photographer in the world to shoot strictly digital in the early years.
Keynote Presentation - Where My Camera Has Taken Me
We grab our camera and head out on our adventure, thinking we are taking it out to go shooting. I came to learn a long time ago that it’s really quite the opposite. My camera was taking me out on the adventure! We are incredibly fortunate, the wanderlust we have about our world takes us to places near and far. Our curiosity is in large part why that camera is there. I’m among you lucky folks bitten by this bug and able to explore our magnificent world. That journey has taken me to amazing locales to see and capture aspects of our world many may never have the opportunity to see. Telling the stories my subjects have shared with me on those travels is what I’m honored to share with you. The critters, locations, the aircraft and those who fly them, the stories that unfolded in my viewfinder, where my camera has taken me.
